Introduction
The Group Executive is made up of parents/carers and friends of the 64th Edinburgh North East Scout Group. The Executive Committee plays an important role in the smooth running of the Scout Group and our main purposes are as follows:
- support the Scout Section Leaders by ensuring that sufficient resources are available to manage and run the Sections and to provide a varied and interesting programme for our young people
- administer Group finances to ensure adequate funds are available
- enable Section Leaders to have Group equipment replaced and added to in a planned manner
- promote links within the community, and groups in the UK and around the world
Fundraising
Fundraising is a key part of the Group Executive. Our Fundraisers:
- organise our social events such as AGM, Beetle Drives
- apply to various organisation for funding on the group’s behalf
- provide funds to leaders for equipment or events
How to get involved
- Come to our social events!
- New ideas are always welcome
- If employers have schemes which support charities, take them up on it
AGM
There is an AGM held every year, usually in May/June. All parents, friends and leaders are invited.
Membership
Group Chairperson
The Chair person of the Group Executive is appointed by the Group Scout Leader.
Secretary and Treasurer
The Office Bearers of Secretary and Treasurer are elected annually at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Other Members
The other members of the Executive are co-opted from parents, friends and Leaders of the Sections within the Scout Group. We don’t restrict membership to parents or for a set period of service and we do welcome new members.
